WHAT IS THE SEA CADET CORPS The Sea Cadet Corps is a nation-wide, voluntary, uniformed youth organization open to young people aged between 12-18 years (and with Junior sections for those of 10-12 years) regardless of sex, religion or race and , within the bounds of safety to themselves and others, to those with special needs. |
THE AIMS OF THE SEA CADET CORPS The aim of the Sea Cadet Corps is to help young people towards responsible adulthood by encouraging valuable personal attributes and high standards of conduct, using nautical theme based on the customs of the Royal Navy. |
News in BriefCadets have recently competed in district swimming competitions and Cadets Read and Wallace have qualified to go to the area event at HMS Raleigh on the 9-11th of October. Four cadets and two members of staff went to the shooting competition held at Trowbridge on the 6th of September and came a creditable 4th place overall. Able Cadet Dempsey has recently attended a course in Seamanship 1st Class and Cadet Mitchell has completed a RYA sailing course. The second unit camp of the year was held over the weekend of 25-27th of September and the band performed at the Frome Carnival on the Saturday evening. |
